R&D Laboratory
“Our chemists work tirelessly, improving current formulas and developing new products to keep up with constant changes in the automotive industry,” said Dustin Willhite, BG Director of Product Technology. “I’m thrilled we will have the facility to keep pace with that demand.”
Proving Ground
BG’s highly trained technicians perform extensive on-vehicle testing of all BG products and services. “It’s not enough to test products and send them out the door,” said Jay Erwin, Director of BG Proving Ground. “This expansion will allow for more service bays and workstations so we can increase efficiency in our testing.”
BG University
Car care education is important to BG. The new facility will allow us to expand and improve our training efforts. “It’s important for automotive service shops to recommend the right maintenance programs to consumers and it’s up to our field representatives to communicate the quality of our services and the added benefit of our Lifetime BG Protection Plan®,” said Andy Baldassarre, BG Director of Training. “That’s where training comes in.”
“We’re the leader in innovation for the automotive aftermarket,” said Greseth. “And this new addition will help us stay that way.”

Expanding the BG campuses
The current building project follows two recent developments at BG’s locations in El Dorado and Derby, Kansas. BG’s manufacturing and distribution facilities in El Dorado were completed in 2013. The addition of that 40-acre campus included a 160,000-square-foot plant that supplied much-needed space for the production of a growing line of products.
In 2016, BG acquired Derby-based Enco, the former supplier of machines such as the BG Drive Line Service Center and the BG Power Steering Service Center. This acquisition gave BG a separate location for its Tools and Equipment Division, specifically for the manufacture of these state-of-the-art machines.
Now, the new 34,000-square-foot BG Technology and Training Center, future home of the BG Proving Ground, will result in the hiring of at least 11 more employees.
